From Interstate 20 take FM 2228 south for 8 miles and the cemetery will be on the right (east) side of the road. The cemetery is near where FM 2228 makes a very sharp 90° turn to the left.

Andrew Jackson Stewart, 1835-1897

Andrew Jackson Stewart was born 14 Jun 1835 in Pickens County, South Carolina, to Abraham Stewart and Nancy Anderson. He was the third of 12 children.
He enlisted in the Confederate States Army, 18 Jan 1862, Camp Hampton, SC, by Capt. Stewart for period of 12 months.
He married Nancy Lucinda Hinkle in 1856 in Pickens County, South Carolina; they had 12 children.
After the war, the family moved to Boone County Arkansas where they homesteaded several hundred acres. Andrew and wife Lucinda and some of their children later moved to Callahan County, Texas, where he operated a small farm. He died there in 1897 and is buried in the Admiral Cemetery.
