LAURENCE WOOD CEMETERY OF GOLIAD COUNTY, TEXAS | ||
The cemetery is off Highway 183 on a ranch road that crosses Laurence Wood's property. It is located on a bend of Sarco Creek. A number of the graves are unmarked. The headstone for my great-great grandfather, Jesse Perkins, is actually up against a live oak. Next to him is my great aunt, Keziah Bundick. She married Charles Bundick first, and after he died she married his cousin, Jake. Jake is buried at Sarco Creek. Next to her is Elizabeth Perkins. She is the wife of Washington Perkins, Jesse's brother. Washington is also buried at Sarco Creek Cemetery. The pictures and information were contributed by Pat Waak, also the author of a book is entitled, "My Bones are Red," a spiritual journey with a triracial people in the Americas. Mercer University Press, Macon, Georgia. copyright 2005. ISBN 0-86554-917-6. |
