Newspaper, Victoria, Texas - JAMES FARLEY - GOLIAD March 9, 2006 GOLIAD - James "Rip" Farley, 85, of Goliad, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006. He was born Nov. 12, 1920, in Goliad County, to the late James William and Ida Jane Simms Farley. He was retired from Dupont and was a rancher.Survivors: companion, Gay Ray of Beeville; daughter, Diana Farley of Cuero; sons, Robert Boyd Farley of Angleton, John M. Power and James N. Power, both of Goliad; sisters, Lois Jaillet and Alice Diebel, both of Goliad; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Preceded in death by: wife, Wynette Norman Farley; and sisters, Ida Lee Blackburn and Josephine Farley.A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Bette Burris officiating. Colonial Funeral Home, Goliad, 361-645-3216. Memorials: donor's choice. Died Age 95. Had 5 grandchildren, 11 gr. grandchildren, 6 gr gr grandchildren. Copied from The Victoria Advocate, Monday, July6, 1987, Advocate News Service: Hattie Friedrich, Goliad, Graveside services for Mrs. Hattie Friedrich, 95, of Goliad, who died Sunday in a local hospital, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Glendale Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Goliad. She was born Jan. 5, 1893 in Waxahachie, daughter of the late August and Annie Ludecke. She was a life-long resident of Goliad. Surviiving are a daughter, Waldine Onken of Welsh, La.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
