Norwood Family Cemetery

Gonzales County, Texas

4 Miles North of Gonzales on US 183 to County Road 244, then 2 or 3 miles west at the end of a dead-end road on private property.

The cemetery had been bulldozed in the 1960s and was restored by the Norwood H. Gottwald family in 2002. As many stones as possible were restored, however it is possible that not all stones were found.

A square stone broken at the top:
Hor _ _ _ _ ambliss
Born Jan 10, 1810 - Died Nov 3, 1875
Not lost blest thought
    But gone before
There we shall meet
To part no more (Footstone H.C.)

One broken stone:
W. M. __ __ __
Born Apr.____
Departed this world
Dec 20, 1873

One stone is broken and has a dove at the top and this poem at the bottom:
Clasp the little _ _ fingers
On her peaceful quiet breast
Fold the little eyelids gently
Little Eliza has gone to rest.
