*Court - Heirs of George C. Tennille, who was killed in Gonzales County by sheriff posse July
1874 are seeking to probate the will of his mother, Mrs. Sarah Tennille Ross who died on Sandies
Creek in 1872. Will written in 1858. Filed 47 years ago for probate, but efforts to probate it
abandoned. Land in Brazoria County acquired by Geo. Tennille, one of Austin's colonists, he died
in Gonzales 1850. Land now has oil and worth millions. Court declined to probate and appeal was
made. 3 June 1921
