Marriage Bond of Eben Havens & Drusilla Lockhart -Gonzales County, TX

Know all men by these presents that we EBEN HAVENS of the state of Cohulia 
and of Texas Dewitt Colony who was born in the state of New York in the year
1805 and DRUSILLA LOCKHART of the state of Cohulia and Texas Dewitt Colony 
and ___ born in the state of Virginia in the year 1802 are ____ and firmly 
bound to the Governor of the state of Cohulia and Texas his successor in 
office in the final sum of ten thousand dollars lawful money of the united 
mexican states for the payment of which ___ and truly to be made we and each 
of us bind ourselves our heirs and _____and firmly by these presents- the 
condition of the above obligation is such that where as the above names  
EBEN HAVAENS and DRUSILLA LOCKHART having mutually agreed to enter in to the 
solemn bonds of Matrimony and there being as yet no Church or Legal 
established Eclesstical authority established in  this Colony by which means 
matrimony may be legally solemied and therefore it is understood that as 
soon as the said authority be legally established the said parties agree to 
be legally married and if either party should then fail or refuse to comply 
the above obligation to be in full force against the party as failing or 
refusing as aforesaid other wise if by  complying with the above condition 
the above obligation to be forever null and void. Given under our hand at 
the town of Gonzales on the ___ day of February 1831
