ELIZABETH R. STURGESS

We the Primitive Baptist Church of Mt. Zion at Nixon, Texas, bow in humble submission to the
will of our heavenly Father, who called from our midst Sister Elizabeth R. Sturgess. She
was bom in Caldwell County,  Texas  May  07, 1878  and  departed this life April 09,1966;
making her stay on earth 87 years, 11 months and 2 days. Sister Sturgess was a long time
member of Mt. Zion Church and her father, Elder G.W. White, served as our pastor for many
years. She leaves to mourn four daughters: Miss. Lena Sturgess of Alabama, Mrs. James
Markham of Iowa, Miss. Marie Sturgess of San Antonio, and Mrs. Charles Gryseels of Humble,
Texas; one sister: Mrs. R.E. Allen; Two brothers: Fred and Matthew White; seven
grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family. May they be able to say and realize that
their loss is her eternal gain.
Be it resolved that we send a copy of this Resolution to THE BANNER OF LOVE,
a copy to the family, and a copy be entered into our church records.
Written by request of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Nixon, Texas.
