Jarrett Bascom Bell married Katie Lou Neal on 18 December 1904 and soon they began their family. Jarrett farmed and Katie took care of the house and children. Jarrett was the son of Thomas Washington Bell.

Thomas Washington Bell was born in 1833 on September 13th. He died August 8, 1902 in Haskell and is buried at Willow Cemetery there. Thomas Bell's first wife was Nancy Ann Shanks. Their children were:

On January 4, 1874, Thomas W. Bell married his second wife, Martha Matilda Doss, who was born in Jackson Co., Georgia, on August 5, 1842. Thomas and Martha were Jarrett Bell's parents. Martha Matilda Doss Bell died January 2, 1994 in Post Oak, Texas. These are the children of Thomas and Martha:

Jarrett Bascom Bell was born in Hot Springs County, Arkansas, made the trip to Texas with his family and lived in Rule until his death on June 17, 1972. Katie was born in 1881 and died in Rule on July 25, 1935. Another good family who contributed to the growth of Haskell County. When Jarrett and Katie began their family, the early days of Haskell County were in full swing with a growing population and more businesses in the towns and more families living nearby on farms or living and working in the towns. The children of Jarrett & Katie Bell were:

Madeline Lee Bell b. 24 Aug 1907 d. in Lubbock 23 Feb 1995; she married William Murdock.

Loudell Bell b. 14 Aug 1912 d. in Breckenridge 13 Mar 2007; she married Derwood Gibson;
Holland Bell b. 24 Oct 1917 d. 3 Feb 1993 in Dallas; he married Florence Highnote;
Hollis Bell (Holland's twin) b. 24 Oct 1917 d. 21 May 2000;

Holland and Hollis served in the armed forces during World War II. Holland was in the Army Air Corps while Hollis signed up for the Regular Army's Field Artillery.
