Haskell is very fortunate in having a very efficient and able School Board - one of the very best in all of West Texas. The Board is made up of seven of the most prominent and influential business and professional men of Haskell. Every one of them has made a success of his own business. They have put the same time, consideration, and judgment into the affairs of these schools that they have put into the management of their own business affairs. It has been through their wise direction that Haskell has secured her fine high school building, which is a credit to this town or any other town. Since this Board has been in office, the Haskell Schools have forged to the front more rapidly than during any other period of their history. These men, though very busy men, have given unselfishly much of their time and thought to the welfare of these schools. We high school pupils and the citizenship of Haskell owe much to these public-spirited men.Dedication
There could be no end to all the reasons; but because of his honesty and devotion to duty, with a genial and abiding sense of humor, and because of his kindly and individual interest in every student, the Senior Class deems it a privilege to pay this tribute of honor esteem, the dedication of the 1924 "THISTLE", to Mr. M. B. Lebo, whom they call friend.Word of Appreciation
The entire student body of the Haskell High School deeply appreciate the help and encouragement and support given the Senior Class by the teachers, the business men and our parents in their efforts to get out this book. This year book reflects the life of the Haskell High School in all its various phases.
An earnest effort has been made to give due consideration to all the activities that make our high school life interesting and dear to each one of us. In after years this book will bring to us hallowed memories and sweet joys. It should remind us of our youth when life held out to us dreams and ideals of a lofty and inspiring nature, the achievements of which will be largely due to the influence and help of the dear old Haskell High School if we are true to the lessons it has attempted to teach us. If we fail in achieving these ideals, it will not be the fault of the Haskell High School; it will be our own fault. May God's richest blessings be upon her future and upon those that take our places.
Your Superintendent,
M. H. BRASHER
