People in other parts of the country don't understand the complications of school in a sparsely populated area.

By 1988 the Allamoore school had the smallest enrollment of all Texas schools: only eight children from the ten families scattered throughout the district's 2,100 square miles attended. [Handbook of Texas] 2100 square miles is about 45x45 miles. How can any district offer a top-rate education with only 10 families footing the bill? The district must consolidate with other small districts, enlarging it's coverage area even more.
We now (2023) have four small school districts, all of which are unified:
Culberson County-Allamoore ISD (360 students) I don't know how many of these live in Hudspeth County.
Dell City ISD (70 students)
Ft Hancock ISD (400 students)
Sierra Blanca ISD (118 students)
