Where We Are
Jeff Davis County was formed in 1887 from Presidio County and is located in far west Texas. The counties surrounding it are (clockwise) Hudspeth and Culberson counties in the north, Reeves and Pecos counties in the east and Brewster and Presidio counties in the south. Because of the shape of the county, its westernmost point touches the Rio Grande and, therefore, Mexico.
