Samuel L. WOODWARD and sister, Lena, were born in Corinth, MS in 1876. They were orpahned at an early age and raised by a cousin, Uncle Tom. Carpenter, who moved to King Co TX in 1882 or 1883. Sam spent his young boyhood in the King Co TX area and graduated from Paducah High School. He married Alice Criswell, d/o Lee. In 1909 Sam and his wife moved to Quay Co, New Mexico where they operated a ranch fore a number of years. They had six children: Forrest, Ivalena, Woodrow, Carl, Billy and Roy. Sam's sister, Lena, married Ross Bohner. I am not researching this family and have no further data, but saw a Woodward posting that I wanted to respond to.

My Grandfather, White Moore, was Sheriff in King County about 1896 to 1904. Do you have record of this?

I am looking for information on one of our relatives named William Leslie McLaren from Guthrie, TX. I am not sure of his birth date but I believe he married Charity Schoolcraft in 1885 and he died in 1933. He was a wagon boss for the 6666 and also was a sheriff for the city of Guthrie. I know he is buried in Guthrie as well. Would you have any more information on this man such as who his parents were or his birth?
