COLORADO CITY – Joy Davis, age 78, died on Thursday, May 29, 2008 in
Abilene, Texas. Funeral Services were held on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 2:30
p.m. at Colorado City cemetery with Royce Clay officiating. Services were
under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Visitation was held on
Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born on August 26, 1929 in Hamilton County to David F.
Sheldon and Jimmie Garret Sheldon. She married Gabby Davis on July 2, 1960
in Paris, Texas. Mrs. Davis has been a resident of Colorado City since 1983
and a member of the Church of Christ at 22nd and Austin in Colorado City.
She was an Insurance Clerk for Medical Center Hospital in Odessa for 14
years and she worked for Dr. John Sheets for 8 years.
She is survived by her husband, Gabby Davis of Colorado City; brothers, Foy
Sheldon of Odessa and Charles Sheldon of Old Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her parents
