JUDGE HALL

LORAINE, June 25 ~ Funeral for J.C. (Judge) Hall, Sr., 79, former county judge and early day resident of Mitchell County who died Wednesday night in Gaston Hospital in Dallas, was pending Thursday at Kiker and Son Funeral Home in Colorado City.
Judge Hall had been ill for several weeks. He was a former mayor of Loraine and prominent banker, farmer and rancher.
A resident of Loraine and Colorado City since 1909, he began as a farmer. Then was elected county judge.
He served in the State Legislature as a representative of the 117th. District from 1925 to 1929.
For a time he lived in Colorado City, but he and others bought stock in Loraine's First State Bank. He was still vice president of the bank when he died.
Judge Hall served as mayor from 1914 to 1918 and was elected mayor again in 1932 serving until 1947.
He and Mrs. Hall were married June 13, 1903 in Gorman and celebrated their Golden Anniversary with a large gathering of people in 1953. Both have been active in the
Baptist Church, where the Judge had taught a Sunday school class since 1914.
In recent years Judge Hall maintained an office in the back of the First State Bank, where he did clerical and notary work, and handled real estate and oil and gas leases.
Survivors include his wife, Inez; three daughters, Mrs. A. L. Geer of Colorado City, Mrs. Joe Milsap of Arlington, and Mrs. M.A. Baumgarten of Houston; one son, J.C. Hall, Jr. of Loraine.
