COLORADO CITY, Jan. 5 - (Spl) Last
rites for Bennett Horn, Sr., former Mitchell county resident, were held here
Wednesday afternoon at Kiker chapel. The Rev. C. M. Epps, pastor of the First
Methodist church officiated and burial was in the cemetery at Westbrook.
Born in Louisiana, September 5, 1863, Mr. Horn came to this county in 1890 and
lived here in 1922 when he moved to Mission. He was married in Louisiana to Mary
E. Warner in April 1890.
During his 22 years as a resident of Mitchell county he was engaged in farming
and has continued to farm in the Rio Grande valley until his death, Jan. 1.
His wife, nine sons, one daughter, 17 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a
brother survive him. His sons are Tom, Charlie, and Perry Horn of Colorado City;
Edd, Neal, George, Ben Jr. (Jack) and Willis R. Horn all of Mission; and Olen
Horn of Big Spring. Mrs. T. J. Robinson [sic Robison] of Midland is his daughter
and Joseph Horn of Montgomery, La., his brother.
