JAMES WILLIAM (JIM) LEE

MITCHELL COUNTY NEWS

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 3:30 at the Church of Christ for James William Lee, 61, with Minister C. Y. Pettigrew of Weinert, Texas, officiating.
James William Lee was born May 18, 1884 in Dallas County, Texas and passed away November 15, 1945, following an accident in which he was hit by a car.
He came to Mitchell County in December 1897 and his lived near Loraine since.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Washington (Tobe) and Mollie Mills Lee; two daughters, Mary Edna Lee and Helen Irene Lee.
He is survived by his wife Myrtle Rone Lee and nine children: Olan of Loraine, Aldin of Phoenix, Arizona, Raymond of the U. S. Navy, Elvis of Texas Tech in Lubbock, Gertha Davidson of Lubbock, Lynette Slaughter, Ina Bess Compton, Ruth Turnbow and Modelle Brookshire all of Loraine; 13 grandchildren, Anna Lee, Bobby and Lynda Jane Slaughter, Mary Beth, Buddy and Marsha Compton, Jimmy, Jerry, and Gary Turnbow, Bobbie and Jimmy Lee, Donny and Billy Brookshire.
Pallbearers were Homan Lee, Burdette Lee, George Manuel Lee, Doyce Lee, J.C. Freeman, and Delmar McDaniel. Flower bearers were Melba Lee, Joyce Lee, Alma Lee, Christine Pyle, Margaret Watson, and Latrice Bassham.
He was laid to rest in the Loraine Cemetery by the side of his two little girls.
