Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Lee, 69, were held at the Lightfoot Church
of Christ at 3 P.M. Thursday, with Floyd J. Spivey officiating.
Mrs. Lee died in an Odessa Hospital December 8, after several months
illness.
She was born November 22, 1885 in Dallas County, and moved to Mitchell
County, settling near Loraine, in 1897. She was married to James William Lee
on September 23, 1906. Mr. Lee preceded her in death in 1945. Since his
death, Mrs. Lee made her home here until two years ago when she moved to
Little Rock, Arkansas, where she lived with her son Elvis Lee. After she
became ill, she moved to Odessa and lived with her daughter Gertha Davidson
and husband Jess.
Survivors include four sons, Olan Lee of Loraine, Aldin Lee of Phoenix,
Arizona, Raymond Lee of Westbrook, and Elvis Lee of Little Rock, Arkansas;
five daughters, Gertha Davidson of Odessa, Lynette Slaughter of Eagle Pass,
Ina Bess Compton of Colorado City, Ruth Turnbow and Modelle Brookshire of El
Indio, Texas; one sister, Willie Kidd of Sheridan, Arkansas; 20
grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were C. L. Lee, Jr. of Midland, Homan Lee of Lamesa, and Joe
Lee, Doyce Lee, George Manuel Lee, Burdette Lee, J.C. Freeman, and Roscoe
Hudgins
all of Loraine.
Burial was in the Loraine, Cemetery with Kiker & Son of Colorado City in
charge. |
