Ruben Ramos Parras Sr.
Ruben Ramos Parras Sr., a native of Alpine and
the brother of Alpine residents, died Monday, March 12, 2012. He was 67.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday,
March 16, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Felix Silva
officiating. Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today (Thursday, March
15) at the funeral home.
Ruben was born July 29, 1944, in Alpine to Ramona
and Francisco Parras, and married Rachel Rivera on July 26, 1968, in Alpine.
Ruben taught school at all levels for four years in Sanderson and 32 years
in Colorado City. Ruben was a member of Primera Igiesia Bauticta El Calvario
Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Parras of
Colorado City; three sons, Ruben Parras Jr. and wife Melissa of Abilene,
Richard Parras and wife Donna of Burleson and Robbie Parras and wife Belinda
of Colorado City; grandchildren Marissa Parras, Robert Parras Jr., Ruben Rey
Parras, Lilly Parras and Aaron Parras; two sisters, Irma Lara and husband
Leo of Alpine, and Yolanda Yniguez and husband Ramond, also of Alpine; one
brother, Frank Parras and wife Elva of Odessa; brothers-in-law Salvador
Hernandez and wife Suhjen of Chula Vista, Calif., Arturo Rivera and wife
Rosa of Midland, Felix Hernandez and wife Mary of Texarkana and Joey
Hernandez of Dallas; sisters-in-law Sara Portillo of Denton, Rebecca Hinojos
and husband Mike of Houston, Lupe Rodriguez of Alpine, Eva Domingas and
husband Al of El Paso, and Virginia Belew of Big Spring; and many nephews,
nieces and cousins.
