COX, PETTY, WYATT posted by Ron Brooks on Saturday, September 14, 1996

I am looking for information on Andrew Jackson WYATT who was born in or what was to become Burnet County in 1854. His parents names were Jordan WYATT and Charlotte PETTY. They were both from KY, although they were married in Tx. Andrew is listed in the 1880 Census as being married to a Mary A ????. Now one of their sons, my g grandfather, Jordan Wyatt also, onhis delayed birth cetificate says that his mothers name was Polly COX. Now Polly was a common nickname for Mary, but for the life of me I cannot find a polly or a Mary COX who married a Andrew Jackson WYATT, let alone any WYATT. One of my big problems with having any information available on her is that she died when my g grandfather was quite young and my gg granfather remaried in 1890. Oh yes, and the couthouse with the marriage lic. was burned in 1880. The WYATT family lived right on the Colorado River across from Blufton, Llano County so many of their marriages are recorded Llano County. Many Thanks, Ron Brooks ron.brooks@windmill.com Lubbock, Tx

She owned a cattle ranch near Richland Springs. I never went on any long drives or done anything outstanding while I worked there, but I did get some good old fashioned experience about handling cattle. I went to Dickens County in 1889." I would appreciate any information, land records, census, etc., which show this family or the family of Elbert Archibald HOUSTON's siblings and parents in San Saba County.
