TAYLOR, HAMILTON, TREECE or TRICE. I am seeking information about my ggfather John Allen TAYLOR and ggmother Artie Missie Emilene HAMILTON, and their lineages. John Allen TAYLOR (b. 25 Jan 1829 in ? Co., N.C.; d. 5 March 1918 in Lockney Co., Tex.) on 26 Feb 1868 married Artie Missie Emilene HAMILTON (b. 26 Dec 1843 in ? Co., N.C.; d. 26 Feb 1919 in Eastland Co., Tex.). John Allen TAYLOR was a livestock farmer, a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Mason, and Democrat and in 1851 moved with his father to San Saba Co., Tex. In 1862, during the Civil War, he was a Texas Ranger Indian Scout with Capt. N.D. McMillen. In 1890, he moved to Throckmorton Co., Tex, in 1900 to King Co., Tex. and in 1911 to Floyd Co., Tex. He was the only child of Henry "General" TAYLOR (b. ?March 1805 in ? Co., N.C.; d. 3 or 5 March 1893 or 1918) and Henrietta Elizabeth TREECE or TRICE (b. 14 Feb 1805, in ? Co., N.C.; d. 26 ? 1890 in Wallace Creek, San Saba Co., Tex.) a Methodist. Henry "General" TAYLOR assisted in organizing San Saba County, and was the first coroner there; from 7 Sept 1861 to the end of the Civil War, he was with the San Saba Mounted Cavalry, 31st Brigade, with Capt. Wm. Thaxton; his father may have been from Virginia. Henrietta Eliazbeth TREECE or TRICE's father may have been from Ireland. Any information would be appreciated.

Researching QUEEN, DAWSON, PETTY, WILLIAMS in Lampasas, San Saba area. Previously lived in Williamson, Milam, and Bell Co's. Samuel Riley DAWSON, Jr. and wife Margaret (QUEEN) lived in San Saba, land was at San Saba Peak. Margaret died in 1872, is buried in the Nabor's Creek Cemetery on San Saba Peak (any info on that cemetery??) Margaret's parents were Reuben QUEEN and wife Mary (BUTLER). Reuben had land next to Samuel Riley DAWSON, originally in Lampasas, changed into San Saba. I understand today that the Nabor's Creek Cemetery that used to be in San Saba Co. is now sitting in Mill's County from it's formation. Sam Riley DAWSON's brother, John DAWSON, married Tempe QUEEN, another dau. of Reuben's. Temperence Amber DAWSON (dau. of John and Tempe) married Samuel H. WILLIAMS. Elizabeth DAWSON, sister to Samuel Riley DAWSON, married John PETTY. Another daughter of Reuben QUEEN's, Huldah QUEEN, married James Eden WILLIAMS. (especially interested in that Williams line!!) KETCHUM (KITCHAM), WARD: Searching for any information on following (my g-g-grandparents): J. W. KETCHUM (KITCHAM) married Nancy (prob. WARD) approximately 1854/55. In 1860 they were in Red River Co. (Clarksville area), Texas and had 2 children, Calvin 4-yrs & Mary l-yr. Story has it he fought in the Civil War. It appears that he died sometime between 1865 & 1870. I've been told that he was buried near Paris, Texas. His wife, Nancy, must have left that area after he died and it's not clear where she went or if she ever re-married. I've heard she was in San Saba Co., TX and Milam Co., TX. I know that J.W. had other relatives, two brothers, one was probably named W.R. I'm using initials here because that's all I have. I expect the "J. W." stands for John Wesley because his second son was named John Wesley. Any information will be appreciated and I'll gladly share what little info I have.

Bela died May 11, 1975 in San Saba, TX. Lucille was born May 12, 1909 and died Nov 12, 1978 in Baytown, Tx. JONES family research: John A(dam) C(rain) JONES and Martha W. JONES of Taledago, AL moved to Panola County in mid 1840. They had several children, including Samuel Daniel JONES, born Feb. 26 1826. Samuel Daniel JONES married Sarah Jane CRAIG who was born May 20 1833 in Pickens County, AL. Samuel and Sarah had several children born in Panola and Brazos counties, including Lewis Garret, Daniel L., Sara E., Ida Amanca, Nancy V., and William Adolphus JONES and his (possible twin) sister Mintie Ella JONES.
