Thomas Edwin Jenkins and wife Willie Alice "Arnold" Jenkins.

Tom was in partner with Mr. Lee and owned Lee and Jenkins Cotton Company which was located on the Square first above Dr. Nesbitt's eye Clinic bldg. I am not sure what it is now. Later Lee and Jenkins was located above the old bank building where Hugh Boren and Son's Insurance is located now. Lee and Jenkins dated from about 1905 until the Depression when President Roosevelt nationalized all cotton buying and selling. Lee and Jenkins were independent and were put out of business.

After the depression Independent buyers were phased back in and Tom Jenkins went back into the business in Snyder. He died of a stroke in the late 1930's.

He and his wife are buried at Snyder Cemetery near the Rigsby family. Descendants still living in Snyder are Jennifer "Rigsby" Davis, Jane Crenwelge, Scott Crenwelge and his family. One son-in-law of Tom Jenkins still lives, his name is Roswell Rigsby of Snyder. Deceased children on Tom and Willie Jenkins include, Mavis Maxine Jenkins Rigsby and Tommie Jenkins Joyce long time residents of Snyder.
