Jim Davis

1943 - 2000

Jim Davis of Snyder died at 3:17 a.m. today in University Medical Center in Lubbock after a brief illness.

Graveside service for Mr. Davis, 57, is set for 10 a.m. Friday in Snyder Cemetery. The Rev. Dave Phillips, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home.

Born on Feb. 12, 1943 in Alabama, he married Linda Tatom on July 3, 1969 in Snyder. Mr. Davis had worked as a heavy equipment operator for several contractors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Verbie Davis; and one brother, Bobby Davis, all of Alabama.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Davis of Snyder; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Bill McRea of Enterprise, Ala.; his mother-in-law, Louise Tatom of Snyder; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
