SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Rufus Hart 1917-2000 Rufus Hart, a native of Scurry County, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Lubbock�s University Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral service for Mr. Hart, 83, is set for 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Miller Robinson, interim pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Snyder Cemetery and arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Born Oct. 8, 1917 in Scurry County, he married Faydean Norred on Nov. 14, 1953 in Lovington, N.M. A lifelong Scurry County resident, Mr. Hart was a retired stock farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in by his parents, Henry Sidney and Cora Davis Hart; two sisters, Era Galyean and Mary Frances Hart; and three brothers, Henry �Boy� Hart, J.D. Hart and W.C. Hart; and also by two brothers who died in infancy. Survivors include his wife, Faydean Hart of the home; seven sisters, Bird Wade, Lena Crenshaw and Patty Jean McCormick, all of Snyder, Hattie Lee Prather of Vinita, Okla., Bennie Prather of Earth, Johnnie Lee Hart of Big Spring and Vera Nell Harless of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church Bereavement Fund, to the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center or to a favorite charity.
