Melvin Howard

1920-2004

Funeral service for Melvin Howard, long-time Snyder resident, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Danny Williams and Walter McCall will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ira Cemetery.

Mr. Howard, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born April 24, 1920 in Lawrence, Ala., Mr. Howard was a U.S. Army veteran and had retired after 33 years with Monsanto as an operator.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra McClellan of Midland; three sons, Richard Howard of Granbury, Melvin Howard of Montgomery and Anthony Howard of DeSoto; a sister, Flo Rasco of Snyder; a special friend, Coy Dee Mebane of Snyder; six grandchildren, Wendy Hunter of Snyder, Kelly Stultz of San Angelo, Nicole Van Buren of Cypress, Michael Howard and Ashley Howard, both of DeSoto, and Elizabeth Howard of Montgomery, Texas; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 this evening at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
