Billy McFarland 

1924-2000 

Billy G. McFarland of Eden died Friday, Aug. 25, in Eden. 

Funeral service for Mr. McFarland, 76, is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Archie Harlow, pastor, officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard from the Brady VFW Post 3234. 

Graveside service is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday in Snyder�s Hillside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Heart of Texas Funeral Home in Brady. 

Born Aug. 18, 1924 in San Saba County, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married Mattie B. Underwood on July 14, 1955 in Yuma, Ariz. 

Mr. McFarland had lived in Eden for the past year, having moved from Brady where he had lived for 11 years. He worked for Holly Sugar Company for 30 years prior to his retirement, and he was a member of the Brady VFW and the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Mattie McFarland of Eden; one grandson; and one special friend, Ellen Edwards of Eden. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Winston Lewis McFarland.
