Jose Sanchez 

1930-2000 

DIMMITT � Jose Sanchez, the father of Jose Sanchez Jr. of Snyder, died Monday, Sept. 11, in Plains Memorial Hospital. 

Funeral service for Mr. Sanchez, 70, is set for 10 a.m. Friday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Fern Couture officiating. Burial will follow in the Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt under the direction of Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. 

A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. 

Born July 7, 1930 in Poth, he married Lydia Garza in 1957 in Lamesa. 

A farmer, Mr. Sanchez had lived in Dimmitt since 1978. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Lydia Sanchez of Dimmitt; nine daughters, Gracie Roach of Poth, Eva Rodriguez and Lydia Lopez of Amarillo, Linda Rodriguez, Mary Ann Galena and Martha Galena, all of Hereford, Adsia Gil of Dimmitt, Diana Ojeda of Dumas and Georgia Perez of Friona; four other sons, Jose Alfredo Sanchez of Friona, Rudolpho Sanchez of San Antonio, Javier Sanchez of Amarillo and Fermin Sanchez of Dimmitt; three sisters, Lupe Silva of Sequin, Angelita Salinas of Poth and Lillian Rosales of Rosenburg; three brothers, Sisto Sanchez of Poth, Paul Sanchez of Lamesa and Mike Sanchez of Fresno, Calif.
