Velma Wemken 

1906-2000 

Velma Loretta Wemken of Snyder died Tuesday, Sept. 12, in Snyder Oaks Care Center. 

Graveside service for Mrs. Wemken, 93, is set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hermleigh Cemetery under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home. 

Born on Oct. 4, 1906 in Greenville, she married John Wemken in 1965 in Big Spring. Mrs. Wemken was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wemken, in 1977; and one son, Robert Motley. 

Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Lucille Frazier of Ventura, Calif., Mary and Gene Higginson of Farmington, N.M., and Freda Banks of Gainesville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy and Shelby Motley of Farmington, N.M. and Edward and Carolyn Patterson of Tulsa, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. 

Family visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
