Bertha Willis 

1931-2000 

Funeral service for Bertha Willis of Snyder, is set for 1 p.m. Saturday in the Wright Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Jason Sidler of Austin will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Willis, 69, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Cogdell Memorial Hospital. 

Born May 29, 1931 in Center, she married Tom Willis on Feb. 8, 1954 in Carthage. He died in 1973. 

Mrs. Willis was a domestic engineer. 

She also was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ella Sweet; and a brother, Ollie Jackson. 

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Esther Henry of Dallas, Evelyn Joyce Malone of Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico and Myrtle Louise Guadarrama of Snyder; three sons, George Edward Willis of Dallas, Richard Lee Willis and Samuel Willis, both of Plainview; four brothers, Leroy Sweet of San Francisco, John Sweet of Tyler, and Tom Sweet and Charlie Sweet, both of Dallas; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Frances Scarborough and Judy Hays, both of Snyder. 

Family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 this evening at Wright Colonial Funeral Home
