Dr. D'ANN DUCOTE
SAN ANGELO — Services for Dr. D'Ann Ducote,
age 58, of Sterling City, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004,
in Johnson's Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ted Dotts officiating.
D'Ann left this world Saturday, Oct. 23, at her residence on Cox Hollow
Ranch. She was born to Rosemary and C.T. Ducote on July 31, 1946, in
Abilene, Texas. She graduated from San Angelo State University with a
degree in English. She went on to further her education by earning her
master's degree from West Texas State University. She was awarded her
Doctorate of Philosophy in Family Studies from Texas Tech University in
1970. Over the years she helped many people through personal and family
counseling. Furthermore, she acted as a mentor and professor to a
variety of students at Texas Tech. D'Ann remained a persistent educator
during her life whether she was in the classroom or on horseback. Her
greatest pleasure was found on her ranch surrounded by nature and in the
saddle. She will always be remembered for her strength of character,
honesty and integrity. Survivors include her daughter, Audra Day and
husband, Miles; two granddaughters, Hannah and Micah Day, all of
Lubbock; her father and stepmother, C.T. and Billey Ducote of San
Angelo; a brother, Michael Ducote and wife, Peggy, of Mullin, Texas;
nephews, Brandon Ducote and wife, Chad Ducote and wife, Staci, Ceyork
Ducote, and niece, Kasey Cross; a sister, Linda Eschman of Mullin,
Texas; nephew, Jeff Eschman and wife, Jill; and niece, Kristen Eschman.
Memorials are requested to be made to your local AIDS foundation in lieu
of flowers.
