The Miller Cemetery listed as on the west side of Tarrant County,
near the Mary's Creek area, is actually named the James Columbus Miller,
Jr. Cemetery after the first person buried there, a boy who died of congestive
chills at the age of 9 years and 7 months. At the time, his father, James
Columbus Miller, owned the surrounding land and lived in a nearby home he
had built with his own hands.
Following the death of his wife, Rhoda Ann McCommas Miller, James Miller dedicated the cemetery on 22 Feb 1917. There are nine people buried there.
The great-granddaughter of J. C. Miller. |
