Colonel
J. E. Roundtree, who has been a resident of Fort Worth for the
last twenty years, died yesterday morning, at 10 o'clock, after
a lingering illness.
Colonel Roundtree was in his 77th year, has been a zealous member of the Baptist church for fifty-three years, a member of the Masonic fraternity for forty-five years, and was at the time of his death, a member in good standing of Fort Worth Lodge, No 148 A.F.&A.M. He leaves a sorrowing wife who has journeyed the rugged path of life with him for more than a half century, she being now in her 73rd year. One son John C. Roundtree, and one daughter, Mrs. M. E. Dotson, who were at his beside during his last illness. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his late residence, No. 324 West Fifteenth Street.
