Relinquishment by Lucinda Mahan of her right to administer on the estate of her deceased husband, Thomas Mahan, in favor of Wm. Giddens. Dated 5 Oct. 1854. Filed 30 Oct. 1854.

Application of Wm. M. Giddens for letters of administration on estate of Thomas Mahan, deceased. Dated 2 Oct. 1854. Filed 30 Oct. 1854.

Bond of Wm. M. Giddens, admr; $400. Sureties: J. B. (X) Foster and John W. Elliston.

Inventory and appraisement of one certificate, a part of the colony headright of Thomas Mahan of 160 acres at $1.00 per acre. Returned by Thomas Easten and Jno. A. Freeman, appraisers. 22 June 1855.

Petition of Lucinda Mahan, widow of Thomas Mahan, dec'd, for allowance to be made "out of the effects of my Dead Husband and also that the court will assegns [assign] me my Dower in the land owned by my Decd Husband." Dated 21 Aug. 1855. Filed 27 Aug. 1855.

Petition of Henry Suggs, guardian of the person of Lucinda and Susan Mullikin, heirs of F. G. and Rachel Mullikin, deceased, for a court order for the administrator of the estate of Thomas Mahan to make a deed to 160 acres land to the said heirs, and to comply with a Bond given by Thomas Mahan to said Mullikins. Petition granted. Filed 27 Aug . 1855.

Affidavit of W. M. Giddens that "there is no assets of the Estate in my hands to pay the widows allowance or to pay court costs," and petition for order to sell a part of land to pay said costs. Filed 27 Aug. 1855.

Report of sale of 80 acres land on 2 Oct. 1855, to J. B. Poster, the highest and best bidder. Filed 29 Oct. 1855.

Petition of Daniel Starr for court to order admr estate of Thomas Mahan to make a deed to 320 acres land granted to Thomas Mahan in accordance with the Title Bond of the said Mahan which is in the possession of petitioner. He recites that "by purchase of one D. E. Norton sale of County of Tarrant he is the owner of a certain piece of land known as the East half of Sec. 16, Township 2, Range 3 West for which he holds the said D. E. Norton's Quit Claim Deed which is of record in the office of the County Court Bk A p 30 and Aug 14, 1854 the said D. E. Norton became the purchaser of said piece of land from one Thomas Mahan (now deceased) by virtue of a Title Bond and the Patent from the State of Texas has issued in the name of the said Thomas Mahan.... One Wm. M. Giddings is the adm. of the Estate.... Your petitioner knows of no other means whereby he can obtain Title to the said 320 acres of land but through the said Adm."

Wm. M. Giddens, admr, reports [having received] one patent to the east half of section sixteen in township 2 granted to Thomas Mahan. Dec. 31, 1855. Recd and ordered recorded. Filed Jan. 1, 1856.

Admr reports that pursuant to an order made at December term of court he has made to the applicant, Daniel Starr, assignee of D. E. Norton, title to the 320 acres land described in the title bond. 24 May 1856. Filed 26 May 1856.

Citation to sheriff of Denton County to summon John Kennady; Thomas Rogers and Sarah Ann Rogers, his wife; and Ely Harris, guardian ad litum of Rachel and James Mahan, minor heirs of Thomas and Sarah Mahan, deceased, to appear at August term of court to show cause why a partition of said estate should not be made. Issued 30 July 1860. on Aug. 19, 1860, Thos. Rogers Sarah A. Rogers, John (X) Kenedy, and Eli G. Harris, Guar[dian], waived "the necessity of service by a regular process of Law and accept the within."
