North of the River, A
brief history of North Fort Worth, by J'Nell Pate tells
the history of what is commonly known as Northside, that area
of Fort Worth that lies north of Downtown that includes the
Stockyards, LaGrave Field, Meacham Airport, Oakwood Cemetery
and etc. From 1848, when the Gilmore and York families
arrived, through the heyday of the Swift and Armour meat
packing plants, to the modern day events held on Exchange
Avenue in the Stockyards, J'Nell Pate covers all of this and
much more.
All of the people named
