Lou Edith Smith

Reverend Daniel Snider of First Presbyterian Church and Brother Bob Johnson of Pumpville Baptist Church officiated. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Henry Davee, Marvin Hill, Carl Wade, Ike Billings, Vicente Cantu ad Ed Burke.
Lou, known familiarly as "Mama Lou," was born July 4, 1934, in Del Rio and was raised on a ranch near Pumpville. She attended high school in Del Rio and Austin College in Sherman.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Republic, Eastern Star, and Del Rio Wildcats. While her children were growing up, she was active in PTA and cub scouts and was a Girl Scout leader.
She remained active in ranching until her death. Lou was a licensed massage therapist and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Del Rio.
She married Clifton John Smith on November 27, 1953, in Del Rio. Together they raised four children. Her parents, Andy and Annie Lou White and sister Lou Eita White, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Clifton John Smith, Sr.; daughter Andra Smith Scott and her husband Mike of Richland Springs; three sons, Clifton John "C J" Smith, Jr., of Houston, Norman Lee and Kathy Smith of Brady, Roger Lynn and Teresa Smith of Blooming Grove; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests donations may be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Center, Whitehead Museum or a charity of the donor's choice.
