MOUNT PLEASANT
(Pop. 10,976)
In south central Titus County, eleven miles north of Pittsburg, Camp County. Named for its location on beautifully wooded hills. Founded with the creation of the county in 1846 and designated the county seat. Early settlers--John Binion, Sr., Richard Moore and L. Golbert--gave town site land and Daniel McCall laid out the original town. The red mineral springs mearby made the town a famous resort from 1908 - 1915.
