Jones Cemetery
Home

Jones Cemetery is one of several in Titus County that must, at this time, be considered lost. Since no monuments existed in the cemetery, no effort was expended to locate it exactly. Named after H. W. Jones, who patented two surveys of land in the Southeastern part of Mt. Pleasant and is located at the intersection of State Highway 49 and the Old Highway 49 in the area occupied by Spann Trucking Company. Members of the Jones, Fitzpatrick and other early families of Mt. Pleasant are buried in this cemetery, and it is probably the first public cemetery for Mt. Pleasant. All traces of it have been lost. It is located in Mount Pleasant city block 349.
