This is a perpetual care cemetery located about 4 miles west of Mt. Pleasant on the North side of Highway 67. It was originated by R. W. Ledeen it is the largest perpetual care cemetery in Titus County. The law requires that a certain per cent of the sales price of each lot go into a trust fund and this trust fund must be invested and the income from the investment used for the purpose of taking care of the cemetery. The trust fund can never be spent, but must be invested from time to time. The present trust officers who are required to keep this money invested are: Charles J. White, President; Robert F. White, Vice Presisdent; and Kandy K. White, Secretary/Treasurer. Telephone numbers for assistance with cemetery matters are: (903) 572-0230, (903) 537-4843, (903) 537-4525. The mailing address is P.O. Box 771 Mt. Pleasant, Texas 75456-0771 The cemetery has a peaceful surrounding and strategically placed deciduous and evergreen trees offer shade and serenity. The main entrance by the cemetery office is announced by a sign declaring it the Forest Lawn Memorial Park - Perpetual Care Cemetery . At the other entrance one views a statue of Crist that accompanies the quote: “Come unto me all you that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”, Matt. 11:28 The following monuments that had not been set at the grave sites were found:
To reach the Forest Lawn Cemetery from the Titus County court house take West 1st Street west for 0.5 mile to the intersection with Ferguson Road (US 271). Turn right onto Ferguson Road and proceed 1.3 miles to the intersection with US 67. Turn left onto US 67 and proceed for 2 miles to the cemetery entrance on the right.
