Benjamin Franklin McRae Midway news, Optic dates 5-Aug-1932 McRae, Benjamin Franklin Date of Death - 27 Jul 1932 Benjamin Franklin McRae died at his home in this community Wednesday, July 27, at 5 p.m. He had been in bad health for two years and a severe case of pneumonia caused his immediate death. The deceased was born in Anson Co., North Carolina, August 12, 1869, he came to Franklin County in 1899. He married Miss Cornelia Redfearn December 24, 1905 and settle in Titus county, where he las lived practically ever since. Three children were born to this union, one girl died in infancy and two boys, Byron and Gilbert, who survive him with his loving campanion and one brother Walter of Waco, and a host of relatives and friends. Mr. McRae was a good man who went about doing good in his own quiet, conservative way. Funeral services were held at his home Wednesday by Rev. John Whitt. Interment was made in the Winfield cemetery at five p.m. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased as follows: Clyde, Alfred, Allen and Weldon Redfearn, Paul Taylor and Lowell Bankhead. Flower girls were nieces-Mabel, Eleanor, and Myra Nell Redfearn, Mrs. Ora Hollingsworth, Martha Ann Taylor, and Geraldine Bankhead.
