Old African-American Burial Ground
This location was once the burial site for many of the black founders of the community of Hawthorne, Texas. The passage
of time has left no visible signs of burials, only the memory of older long-time residents of the area. This site is on
private property and is currently a residential site. Burials ceased at this location in the late 1890s and started at a
new larger site near by in early 1900s.
