WHEELER - Glenda Porter, 69, died Sunday, April 30, 2006.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ricky Carstensen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Porter Ranch Cemetery in Wheeler by Wright Funeral Home.
Glenda was born May 29, 1936, in Wheeler to Glen Robert and Madge Glass Porter. She did a lot of traveling during her life. She traveled to 44 of the 50 states.
She loved to cross stitch and entered some of her cross stitch projects in the Amarillo Tri-State Fair and the Odessa County Fair, winning numerous awards in both fairs. She also loved to work crossword puzzles and loved to read.
She worked for Parkview Home Health from October '93 to January 2002. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Thursday Review Club.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ty Holladay; her parents; a brother, Duane "Dunk" Porter; and husbands, Bobby Henderson and Buck Wilson.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheri Holladay of Farmington, N.M.; two sons, Robert Henderson of Wheeler and Rusty Henderson of Odessa; a brother, Jim Porter of Wheeler; and two grandchildren, Callee Holladay of Farmington and Dustin Henderson of San Angelo.
The family suggests memorials be to Wheeler Public Library or BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner, Pampa, TX 79065.
