Remains found in Post Hold Grave
The remains of H. Lold were buried standing up in posthole grave south of Kermit. He is believed to have been murdered on January 11, 1928 after being caught cheating in a card game. When Sheriff Ellis Summers opened the grave in 1941, Lold's bones were bundled inside his overalls and other articles of clothing leading investigators to believe that the grave had been previously opened. Lold's skull was missing from the grave and it has never been found.
