I was wondering if there is any information you can provide for me concerning my great uncle-Ira Thomas Jones. I know he died in Schleicher County on September 9, 1940. His death certificate says he was buried at the Eldorado Cemetery, but I cannot find any info on it. He died of gunshots wounds at the Paul Nixon Farm. It says the undertaker was John Robinson. He was born March 6, 1906 in Duncan, OK.Would you have any ideas on how I could get more info? Was there a newspaper for Eldorado back then? On the "Informant" section of the death certificate-I just cannot read it. Would you happen to know the name of the funeral home in 1940?Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am also looking for any trace of his mother-Elmira Hibdon Jones. She was born in 1866 in TX.

I have been trying to compile the Vogel family. Irene Georgia Vogel (sometimes Georgia Irene) married Edgar James Hicks and they lived at Eldorado. I would like to obtain obituaries for Edgar who died 14 Mar 1987 and his son, Kenneth James Hicks who died 20 Apr 1978. Apparently, both died in Schleicher County. The wife and mother, Irene Georgia Hicks, died 05 Dec 1994 at Carlsbad in Tom Green County but they do not have the obituary. The obituary is probably in Schleicher County. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
